Ummm. No. How about everybody just be considerate of each other's feelings.

Someone can be fat and beautiful. I have a very dear friend that is fat (plump, chubby, overweight, packing, whatever!), and she is fabulous and gorgeous. I don't think one means you can't be the other.
No. Instead, they moan on and on about how it must be the first cookie you've had in years.
Whether someone is adopting from a breed-specific rescue group or a general dog/dog & cat/pet rescue, I count it as a victory because at least they aren't buying one from a pet shop, online, a backyard breeder, or a puppy mill.
The first and last time I tried to engage in a feminist discussion on Tumblr, I was told my opinions and thoughts on feminism were "useless" and "should be ignored" because I have a white mother and therefore am "privileged." For real. Apparently, since I was unable to choose my ethnicity at birth/prevent my dad from…
Oh you wonderful unsullied flower. You are one of the lucky ones.
meh... I'm one such feminist who eyerolls the social justice warrior types who have come to populate tumblr. the problem is that a huge percentage of the people who have taken up the banner of social justice are outcast high school kids who don't know the first thing about the social sciences. There's a lot of…
No one should send this guy hate-filled racist comments. No one. He is doing a great thing here and that picture is sweet as pie.
I love this tiny hairbrush in this massive man-hand.
Don't carry the burden of guilt too heavily - just keep up the good fight by helping to educate other Australians who don't get it or want to deny it. You can't undo what's been done, but you can keep on pushing until racism is defeated. I'm glad that you're working to make positive change! And thank you for saying…
Reading comprehension is a good place to start. Especially since you quoted something I did not say, nor is implied by what I said. Also what racism is. And the history of your own country. Also on the definition of what patronizing is.
I'm Australian and completely agree with you. Both overt and systematic discrimination is rife, from our visa processes to our health care system. It's shameful and I'm sorry on behalf of my country. Good people are here too (promise), I'm lucky to work with those who are making positive changes. I only hope this…
I'm Australian and I absolutely agree. Australia is generally a racist country and if you object you are immediately labelled a pain in the arse who takes everything too seriously.
I'm finding that I'm having to tell Australians about parts of their history they apparently(?) don't know about. Blatantly racist things. I've gotten so many excuses on how that's not relevant or that I'm stereotyping them. One thing that holds true about racists from every country is they love apologia, they have…
I found the people of Australia to be shockingly racist, and have no awareness of it when I would point it out. I would hear people throw out offensive terms just in casual conversation with strangers. They still love gollywogs and I couldn't believe it when I saw them in Children's stores
That comment helped me and everyone who found what it was in reply-to offensive. Tone-trolling on the other hand, really isn't helpful. If you can't understand that, don't bother saying anything.
I think that everyone here agrees that the KKK is completely out of place. There really seems to be no point in discussing it.
Exactly, thats the world of tumblr, pretty much. And if a white person makes a thoughtful commentary on black issues, you can expect a lot of "WE DON'T NEED A WHITE SAVIOR, GET OUT." And then if you keep your mouth shut about black issues, you can expect "ALWAYS EXCLUDING PEOPLE OF COLOR, FUCK OFF WHITE SCUM" etc.
As a supporter and ally of multiple socially progressive causes sometimes I get a bit too hardcore on hammering on motherfuckers who use words and slurs.
