Ya, I think the work involved is a bit more than I would rather do.
I think I’d save the labor and get a new door.

I apologize on behalf of my fellow Americans. Their belief in American exceptionalism blinds them to all rational critique. Because of the sorry state of education here they have no idea you can be arrested for espousing nazism in Deutschland, so your joke sailed over their dense little heads.

I’ll admit that woman made a pretty stupid statement, and the state of the American educational system is fucked, but goddamn, I’m tickled pink to read a comment from a German who, without a trace of irony or self-awareness, states that he wants someone arrested for saying what she thinks. Great shit, man. Thanks for

It’s FOX/GOP hysteria. They love to play the victim and pretend that Obama is worse than Hitler. Educated Americans just roll our eyes when people overreact like this and compare anything to WW2/Nazi Germany.

German here (You read in a moment why this is relevant.) SOME of these protesters really blew my mind! When i heard many stay outside i thought “Well ok, that usually happens on protests!”

Schwarzenegger seal of approval!

Sounds like one of those “Good ideas that will probably go horribly wrong when someone abuses it in a hissy fit” kind of things.

If each dev has the ability to do an entire account ban then that is fucking bullshit craziness.. If they can only permaban you from their own game thats ok.

Well, this can only go wrong.

I can just imagine what the developer of Line of Defense: Tactics would do with this kind of power, should he ever create a game that uses online multiplayer (I think his name was Derek Smart or something like that). Write a bad review or complain about something functionally broken on the forums? Banned from play.

look at the dev response to the review of day one : gary’s incident and you’ll get a pretty good reason why this is a bad idea.

Banning cheaters I understand, but the burden of proof needs to be on the side of the developers. Otherwise, this could get out of control, as we have seen with other services and automation; e.g. YouTube, etc. If a user is found not to be cheating, then they should get a full refund of the amount spent purchasing the

what the extent of a permaban ban will be—i.e., for a specific game, or a gamer’s entire Steam account and game library.

Had this ban system came earlier, we would’ve been treated to some show... say.. like that certain someone from paranautical activity... banning Gabe from his game.. :D

That is an excellent point. But I wonder how much information the player is given about the nature of the ban. It would be good if the developer had to provide the evidence used to implicate the player in the first place as part of the request to ban the player. Even if steam automatically accepted it

I’m more concerned over the “implement their own systems that detect” part. Sounds like any developer can come up with their own programs to scan your computer to try and find mods/hacks? Will we at least get a warning like when you install a phone app that states what the game/program will actually attempt to do?

Luickily it’s only game bans but still... the amount of stories you hear about developers going insane because their game receives bad critique... I hope those developers who wish to abuse this option will remember how fast things spread around the internet. A steam user will remain anonymous in spite of their idiotic

You’re talking about a plumber. The correct response is “I’m paying you to work, not annoy me.”

Until gamers stop acting like children the general public will still treat gaming like a child’s past time.
