I worked at Chrysler from 2011-2014 and everyone I talked to who was working there prior to bankruptcy talked about how much better the work environment, handling of programs, and overall quality of employment was after Fiat took control. He did more good for that company than most people will ever realize.

I agree there have actually been bigger scams, but nothing you said actually disputes the OP’s claim that it’s a scam.

The way I understand it with the C6 and C7 corvettes is there are certain mounts for parts of the frame that if they get damaged are unrepairable.  I’d bet thats what happened here.  

Formula One has always been a story of the haves and have-nots but in the past a have-not with a revolutionary idea could jump to the top. Unfortunately, of late, the rules have eliminated creativity and rewarded execution. A team with more money is going to execute the formula better. (Unless they’re McLaren)
