The entire Japanese rail system is overhead lines. I think pretty much all of Europe’s system is too. We don’t need to reinvent the wheel here.

Overhead lines would be much better than third rail for that kind of implementation. That said at that point you would just wire up the entire line.

It’s not civil asset forfeiture - the linked article (in French, probably why this article doesn’t correctly clarify) says the government of EG agreed to the sale of the cars as part of a larger international investigation involving assets in the Netherlands and the Cayman Islands. The process was concluded according

In my opinion this doesn’t seem fishy or even accounting trickery. There are no hard rules or strict guidance around player valuation as there are with companies dealing with US GAAP/IFRS accounting regulations. This just seems like a shrewd business move that is win-win. Why wouldn’t Barcelona and Valencia do this?

Isn’t this essentially just cap space negotiation? I’m not sure what about this is shady.

Wait until you hear about how...literally every organization...does their accounting.

95 g is achievable though without having to reinvent everything. Just to give an example, the latest Corolla hybrid is 76 g (and sells well).

An Edge, F150, F350, Focus, Fusion, Explorer and Transit in the past 3 years, I’ve got a pretty good feeling for their lineup. Definitely not for me.

It’s kind of distressing to see Ford doing this bad, but also totally expected. With few exceptions most of their line up is weird. Not comfortable, strange jinked up power trains that break a lot, and an approach to infotainment that just sucks. They’re doing a great job with the F150 and Mustang, but not much else.

thing about football is, your legs, the cartilage, the joints, your muscle, et all, at age 31, if you have been playing pro (primera division, serie a, la liga, champions) for more than 10 years straight, your body itself rejects most treatments, since you force then for quite a while, your body goes on denial of

in football (yes 80 % of the world calls it that) that’s like 100 years old, is one over the threshold, in southamerica or europe, he wouldn’t be playing anymore, and even if he did, would be on no names teams like the ones on the MLS unfortunately

The VAR jokes are really not a good look... Deadspin is starting to sound like the crotchety football writer complaining about long scoring plays getting called back because of holding penalties.

Standard practice - goalie always comes out closer, when the ball is far in the opponents side, so he can support backpasses and be the first to any long balls on counter attacks.

Its like the video of him going to some press taping, and rufflign up his hair at the last minute.

That was a great read.  Thanks.

He is disturbingly like Donald Trump in other ways too but he’s scarier because he normally has the ability to form complete sentences.

A nation is about to give command of a nuclear arsenal to an automotive journalist.

My profile pic says otherwise.

It’s not that he is celebrating.  It’s that he is celebrating while helping.  I agree, that made me giggle.
