I think this was Jap market only. But you're right, definitely from the time when Rover and Honda were in cahoots. Not just the Sterling/800/Legend but also the 200/Ballade/Concerto and the 400/45/MG ZS/Civic 5-door.

That is awesome!

I dunno, fire trucks look pretty cool in desert sand......

How about the Bedford RLHZ 'Green Goddess', built for British Civil Defence reserve in the 50's in case of a nuclear attack but pressed into service as late as 2002/03 during the national fire brigade strikes and manned by Armed Forces personnel:

They are not as popular as you think over here. The general idea of a Vauxhall badged muscle car is well received but they are just too over priced and of too low a quality to compete well. I love them and their Monaro forebears but unfortunately I only maybe see a couple a year and I'm not joking there. Add fuel,

Wow, I'm shocked how cheap that was. When I was 17, my first car was a little 1984 MG Metro and it cost me £790 a year to insure third party, fire and theft. The car was only worth £500....... That was 18 years ago mind, you would be looking at easily 3 times that amount for a similar car and similar age of driver

Well, I've now made my mind up. The wife is after a new Mini and we were holding on to see what the new model looks like. I think we'll stick with the current model and order a Clubman next year. At least that isn't being replaced for a few years.

I really like the Rocketman and I'm disappointed it was dropped. It did however preview the front end design for this new model Mini, not that it suits the larger car though.

That's the trouble, like with Audi, it looks like it's been designed without number plate placement in mind just so it looks good in the US. Which is a shame being a 'British' car and all.

The fuel filler has changed sides. It used to be on the opposite side for Euro versions as well. I notice the exhaust has changed sides in the non-S as well.

Love the Rocketman, such a shame it got axed. At least it's face has lived on in this new Mini though, although I think it suited the smaller car better.

You can say the same about nearly all generations of UK market Escorts and Cavaliers, they just disappeared about 8 years ago at the same time as their replacement Focus and Vectra models were entering the sub-£1000 arena. Some FWD Escorts are falling into enthusiasts hands now though, especially the RS Turbo Series

Here's an up! with a grille..... Except it's a Skoda Citigo. The SEAT Mii version also has a grille. I personally prefer the up though, especially in black with those retro style 'steels'.

It certainly is. Love perusing their website every now and again. One day I will become a buying customer! If the wife allows........

If we're going forward control, I nominate the Land Rover FC101.......

Vauxhall Astra GTE. This dash was coolness personified back in '89!

No worries mate. My first hand experience is only from loading/unloading them, not flying them! I'm in the Royal Air Force and we hire them in to transport large loads for us, mainly outsized vehicles and helicopters.

No. The An-225 is bigger than the -125. Believe me, I have first hand experience of both.

No, I think you find it's stable mate the AN-225 is larger! And I have first hand experience of both......

As shown above, the -225 is the big daddy of this small fry!
