As a Brit, I had no idea of either who she was or even that she was coloured until the press picked up on her. I just thought she was a typical fake-tanned American. I personally dont think her colour has anything to do with it for us.
Ah, Jalopnik. You really are low hanging fruit for those of us with a true sense of gutter humour....
2CV racing. Typical British eccentricity applied to crappy French cars.
I love how familiar cars are badged differently around the world. In the UK we had the 150bhp RS2000 in that generation, both in 2wd and 4x4 flavours.
I hate to be that guy, but the Escort pictured is a hatch, albeit a 5 door.
The picture you used in the Escort slide is of the rest of the world Mk6 Escort, not a USDM car.
Absolutely this. Although as a former aircraft technician myself, I take pride in correct wirelocking and I don’t think I’ve ever seen any outside of the aircraft world that hold up to the correct standards. I’d hate to see what a truck tyre fitter would come up with!
I’ve got to say I love the 6R4, a love that stems from the fact that my first car was an MG Metro 1300 and that tenuous link was good enough for 17 year old me!
I think the big disappointment regarding the Integra comes from all of the “is this what it will look like?” third party renderings that had been doing the rounds in the last few months. I mean, if people were expecting this, then yeah there’s going to be a few negatives......
I think Mercedes started the whole 4-door coupé thing didn’t they? I always thought of it being a pretentious way of naming was really was a fastback.....
Or even zero-door cars like the Atom!
It’s growing on me I have to admit. I quite like the fastback rear that reminds me of the Mercedes CLA and Hyundai i30 Fastback N.
3 and 5 door cars are known as such because the rear hatch opens into the cabin.
All I can say is, welcome to the real world!
Quick! Delete your search history, you dirty dog! :D
I think the car in the picture is the Jetta that was hit.
All this talk of it being similar to a Corolla has reminded me of Suzuki’s latest Meh Car, the Swace. Basically a rebadged Corolla estate.....
They are good looking cars, especially in Sport spec. Not that I've ever seen one outside of pictures mind, apparently they were sold here in the UK but I've never got eyes on one.
