"I say this as a person who is far, far left of the Democrats."
"I say this as a person who is far, far left of the Democrats."
If I ended every friendship that had some degree of sexual tension to it from either my side or theirs, I would have very few friends of either sex. :P I think to some extent it's just normal. Most people like sex. When you spend a lot of time with someone and develop some degree of emotional intimacy, occasionally…
I was surprised by how big the protests against the law were... In North America we always think of Europe as this socially progressive wonderland. If there are so many angry socially conservative people in Europe, too, where are we North Americans supposed to move to get away from conservative governments here?
Wait... But why can't you pick up that kid? What's your higher priority? :P
Also, what's the point of this comparison, and why bring it up in this context? Once upon a time it was thought that gay people were also pedophiles, and this was used to justify a lot of hate against them. Are you trying to bring up those memories again?
That is true! I guess I actually forgot about that line in the article in my rush to be upset about things. :(
OH MY GOD THEY ARE LETTING GAY STUDENTS ATTEND PROM. Wow. Give them the Nobel Peace Prize!
I'm sorry, but just because it's legal we shouldn't complain about it? Why? Just because something is legal doesn't mean its morally right, or should not be criticized. Why do people always start off with "is it legal?" when discussing discrimination? How about "is it morally wrong?" Why the heck shouldn't we…
I think it's pretty clear the Catholic church is already a lot more accepting of pedophiles than it is of gays or lesbians...
Just because there are no legal grounds on which to move against the school doesn't mean they shouldn't be called out for their shitty behaviour, or that it shouldn't be talked about.
Why do we always start off talking about religious institution's rights? If you'll read carefully, you'll note that nowhere does this article call for sending armed guards into the school to force them to accept gay people at gun point. What we're doing is criticizing the school for its wrong and immoral behaviour. Is…
As a human male, I can say that in my personal experience, this is a bunch of crap.
As a white guy who once dated an Asian woman, I simultaneously understand this reaction, and feel incredibly uncomfortable with it. O_o
I... find it hard to accept China today as a country with a great record on gender equality. O_o I mean, obviously things are better than they were before, and perhaps are improving further, but... Yeah.
"In fairness to the doctors involved in Savita's care - I doubt they valued the baby more than the mother. I think they valued their careers more than their patient."
It's all so dehumanizing and objectifying. I want to be in a relationship with another person, and one who sees me as a person, not with some sort of matrix for measuring sexual attractiveness that's evaluating me at the same time.
Blehhh. It's all so... icky. I suppose it makes sense if you're looking for a meaningless fling, rather than an actual relationship with another human being... Which I guess is applicable to an article about one-night stands.
So "pick-up artists" have it right, basically?
If you're worried about your privacy, private individuals with the equivalent of a smartphone probably shouldn't be your biggest concern anyway. :P I'd say there's a lot of much bigger wheels in the corporate world, government, and across the internet that you should punch first.
Yeah, much as I have sympathy for that cat, people with cat allergies should be able to use the library with the same ease and comfort as anyone else. Just because there haven't been any formal complaints doesn't mean it hasn't affected anyone. I'm kind of on that guy's side, "kind of a douche" or not.
