The point is in the text and it's pretty clear. People have stated that 'PC gaming is dying' for decades.

"Publishers and developers were abandoning it en masse to seek the safety - and money - of a booming console market."

Thats because it cost less and was bought by more people. No accounting for taste

The writing wasn't great (except the short stories, I love those... but the are by a different author than the actual story).

But it was still fucking shakespearean compared to FF XIII and specially XIII-2.

If LO was written by higschool teen then the latest FF have been written by braindead preteens

Opinions :D

I love seeing Lost Odyssey get love. I haven't played The Last Story but LO is a tremendous game. Over the years, I've found it increasingly difficult to dig into and enjoy jrpgs, but when I picked up Lost Odyssey, I didn't put it down until after a 110 hour playthrough. It is an exceptional game and probably the best

"this backfired in a really obvious way that we should have seen, but we are morons (which is pretty obvious by just looking at our crap game). So we are sorry about that"

I have to say, I bought Aliens: Colonial Marines some 5 months after it came out when it was on sale for $12.50 on Steam, and I thought it was kind of fun.

I'll concede that as a canonical sequel to Aliens it's a bit silly, but it's a fairly good Aliens simulator —— I ran around in dark corridors and shot Xenomorphs.

South America is certainly getting the shaft when it comes to the PlayStation 4 prices. As reported previously, Argentinians will be paying $1,100 USD for the console, while in Chile the unit is priced at 329,999 Chilean pesos — about U.S. $ 1,700.

I'd say that existential awareness is one aspect of it. Another is a lack of goals. Previous generations have, to a lesser extent, had some driving force behind them. Whether that was blind patriotism/nationalism due to indoctrination, a looming threat of fascist oppression or merely trying to survive.

*starts clock* Only 19+ more years to go till we get that Sim City apology!

That's a Po-Kéy-Mon!

I tried to like that game. I really tried. 15 hours of it not engaging me whatsoever was enough to put the final nail in the coffin, though. :/

Maybe that's the shameless American capitalism in my upbringing.

No, that's you having rights as a customer, and recognizing them as such.

If I give you my money, you don't get to cancel my order because I spoke to someone entirely unrelated to you and used your company name in a negative light. As a company, you can

That's a huge stretch to try and stir up unrelated political bullshit.

The problem I have with PETA's approach to things (well, one of the problems) is that their drastic overblown attack (and turning a cartoon bloodless game into a blood-soaked mutilated mess IS drastic and overblown) is the sort of thing that makes people write them off entirely as maniacs. I believe animals have

As a 40 year old gamer myself, I would have to disagree with you. I have certainly aged from the days of standing in line, hungry from skipping lunch with my lunch money converted into quarters, at 7-11, waiting my turn to play Super Mario Bros, (circa 1980s) to staying up until midnight last night because I couldn't

Let me see if I get this - Indie devs pitch their games to SE. SE uses kickstarter-style crowdfunding to raise funds for said game. Once the goal is achieved and the game is funded through crowdfunding and not through publisher investment, the small indie studio creates a game. Then, the indie developer hands over the

Looking through this list... it sort of reminds me of why I don't watch anime anymore. They are have adopted nearly the exact same identical animation style. If you went down this list and took pictures of every character and put them in one picture, they'd all look like they came from the same anime.
