Drag how? Did you think it was boring? I can totally see it being an emotional drag. Shinobu Mail was actually a great thematic continuation of some plot elements introduced in Kizumonogatari. Really appreciated that final episode a lot more because I had read Kizu.

That familiarity with the Vampire as a trope is actually addressed in the story and used to great effect.

But the fun thing is that we - in no Monogatari story - see what the world really looks like... its always from the point of view of the current protagonist.
