Why is such a huge change happening now(at a expansion), rather than when D2 launched?

UB is a big research school. When I attended a few years ago, they had their internet on lockdown, had trouble to connecting to most P2P clients. Guildwars 2 had just come out and I had such a hard time trying to download and play.

I for one welcome the age where almost every franchise has a gacha game. Not really, I’m a sucker for the new player bundles or if I see a banner with an interesting character. I could be spending money on less-shallow games or at least ones where my micro transactions don’t translate to psuedo-gambling.
