I get what you're saying, but honestly I would do better in life if I would occasionally demand things from my doctors, antibiotics included.

I like this thing MilliHelen is doing by documenting experiences with various products over a longer period of time. Some beauty blogs just show dabs of products instead of actually testing them so this is very nice. Plus good, clear pictures! I approve.
I'm on various medications for a chronic illness (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and they fuck my skin up like no other. I tried the OCM for like 10 days on a friend's recommendation and NEVER AGAIN. I had the deepest, most painful pimples I've ever had in my life. I've had to stop wearing all face makeup (still do eye makeup…
If you still want a matte gray, I love Copperplate by MAC. It's more cool toned than Coquette (not purple, though), and so smooth. For purplish taupes you could also try Satin Taupe by MAC (kind of a hybrid color, could look purple, brown, copper, etc) maybe safer bet to get your feet wet because it leans more brown.…
I consider my lipstick my war paint. So I like wearing lots of intense colours like bright reds and dark carmine and purples - all the different colours is the other bonus too. I can take or leave other kinds of makeup (even other lip products) but lipstick makes me feel totally badass. It's a personal thing, I guess,…
That is such a classic look and so versatile too. For me, foundation (I have rosacea so using something sheer is all no), mascara, brows, enough blush to make me look alive and then LIPS. Bold red, hot pink, purple, orange — any color but BOLD. It just WORKS.
But I do dream of one day being able to wear a fab red. Sigh.
I agree - other MAC shadows that are purplish-neutrals are Satin Taupe for every day (very slightly purple with my brown eyes) or Sketch for evening (burgundy plummish brown).
Everyone's got their favourites. Hey, no purple for you means more for me!
I think they all look better in general in their before as well, although I love all the lipstick colors.
The trick is doing more warm-toned purples. Like, Urban Decay's Asphyxia is my jam.
You have to tone everything else way the fuck down. The most neutral eyeshadow, super-clean liner, almost no blush at all. The rest of your face has to look very clean and polished if you want to do a bold lip.
Hazel eyes here: I have never felt that purple did much more than make them look bruised. Rusty shadow brings out the green, because it contrasts with it better. Frankly, olive shadow does, too—from the reflection—Rayleigh scattering.
Bobbi Brown makes a beautiful neutral purple shadow called "Heather." It's just enough to intensify the green in your eyes without knocking you out with it. It looks like a dark taupe in the pan.
I have mostly green eyes (that sounds like I have many eyes, what I mean is that my eyes are usually somewhere between blue and green) and wear a ton of eyeliner. I have a copper liquid liner from Sephora's brand that is excellent and great for my eye color. I sometimes add a little very neutral shadow with that. I…
Meh, there really are no faux pas in makeup anymore—well, maybe other than doing that dark brown lip liner/bright pink lipstick thing, but that could just be my own bias—and in art, the best way to bring out the concentration of a color is by either grouping it closely with other similar colors or having it stand out…
Well, for me that's one of the advantages of lipstick: even on a day when I do nothing else to my face, putting on lipstick instantly makes me look "done" (so, great for when I oversleep!) That said, I tend to wear a full face of makeup every day during the week, as I feel more adult and professional (and ready to…
Everyone seems to have at least on makeup thing they don't get. I, personally, can't figure out foundation. It takes forever to do and then I can't touch my face for the rest of the day without smudges. But I wear llipstick every single day. Cause its easy and awesome
Yes. I can do everything else GREAT. I can even contour without looking like Kris Jenner. But I cannot, for the life of me, do eyeshadow.
My boyfriend often leans in for a kiss and the closer he gets the more worried he looks. Sucker.
