I think you’re missing the point of Google Pixel hardware design. They made a super awesome, crazy sexy Chromebook for $1000. Nobody but the hardest of core Google fan was gonna pony up that kinda cash. It was state of the art design, and it showed what can be done, but I doubt anyone expected it to sell.
