You (would have) spent exactly $9 more than the 1999 Miata I bought after first seeing it on Craigslist three weeks ago! Great comparison, Doug!

Heh.

I financed through Lightstream.com, and they don’t ask the year of your vehicle until after lending you the money! Good rates too. I don’t know if I would have had problems with my 2005 Elise anyway, but I’ve heard it’s worked for older vehicles as well.

Wow, it’s slowly morphing into that Lotus Esprit concept from days of yore! I mean mostly just the front styling + proportions, but maybe we’ll get there someday. Both look the business.

That’s weird, I wonder what it was in for? It has mostly the same power/drivetrain out of the Exige, and those are robust as hell. I owned an Evora and it was rock solid. My 2013 Boxster is the one that I took into the shop for weird noises.

My Evora had the same thing! Just on the other side of the car. Can’t find a picture of it open, but look at a picture of the front and know that just the liiiiittle plastic piece between the extractor vents opens up for coolant plus air filter swaps. Rivals this tiny guy for surface area!

Backwards pig?

Whoa, really!? There are so many sneaky, unadvertised features between trim levels, like I heard only the GT gets the aluminum panel in the front of the top, and some Canadian video review said the GT gets better headrest speakers, but the dealer had no idea about that. The latter may only be Canadian shiz.

I believe the Sport only gets 6 speakers, whereas the Bose comes with 9 (per mazdausa.com and being a huge nerd for this car).

One of the most useful things for me to see in an Ultimate Buyer’s Guide for FR-S/BRZ would be a comparison between the two. If not a full review at least just a blow-by-blow of the feature differences. Loving these guides though!

I’m coming to this with a friend or two and we’re all SO EXCITED!!! Thanks for bestowing your crazy excellence upon us boring Midwesterners, Torch.

I’m not a recent convert, but it’s shit like this that puts Jalopnik above Autoblog and...well, any other major car blog. Keep doing the Lord’s work, Raphael!

“Curse you DeMuroooo!”

I just installed those Koni FSDs on my Cooper S, and they are MAGICAL. Makes it feel as or more refined than the BMW-esque 2014 Cooper, yet it keeps the tossability from the shorter wheelbase! Roll feels roughly the same, with slightly improved turn-in.

I daily’d (dailied?) an Evora for half a year and it was weird and a little obtuse but I wouldn’t ever call it infuriating! Well, the infotainment screen not dimming along with the rest of the cabin at night was pretty harsh and annoying, but it never went beyond that!

Would you say a Pontiac Vibe is American or Japanese? I keep saying I’ve never owned an American car because it really is just a Toyota Matrix.

Hahaha, I can't wait for all the mathed up crack zombie monkeys of the future. I tell my friends asking advice about boring cars the same thing! About going out and driving them, not monkeys. Takes a surprisingly long amount of time to learn that when you get kind of addicted to reading reviews from the comfort of

Sweet, thanks for the response. I just traded my Lotus Evora in for a used Cooper S while I save and look around for something that more or less matches that description. The Evora is almost a fantastic mile eater/canyon carver, but my butt was just a little too big for the bolsters and the lack of outer-leg room due

Please do; I can't imagine that wouldn't get front paged.

.......what kind of beer do you drink and how much were you buying?
