Why did you end up selling it?

We were not among the outlets invited (odd since if you go to www.miatablowjob.com it redirects to Jalopnik), but the cars were driven very briefly in Barcelona over the last couple of days. And when I say very briefly, I mean that I was told by friends that were there that they got about 90 minutes total in the car.

I just bought this same toy at the grocery store last night! Plan on giving it to my amazing Lotus dealership for Christmas.

Whoops gross. Kinja showed my first post but not second, so I kept posting like a weirdo. That'll learn me. Anyway, thank you! Matte grey sounds awesome as well.

Hear, hear. I had a new Boxster PDK before buying my Evora IPS and I was surprised at how I prefer the torque converter. The Evoras 2012 and after are more posh than a base Porsche and while the IPS can be just as sporty, it can also be more relaxed which suits the car (like you said). Definitely has its own quirks,

I raise my first at you, sir! I bought one of those leftover 2013 models for $66k last month, and I think it's worlds better and more comfortable than the 981 Boxster I had before it. And it actually has character, unlike any recent Porsche I've driven! Therefore, harrumph!

Yeah there are a handful. For example Gator Motorsport in Indy is primarily Lotus, but also Rossion and soon this crazy Canadian track car manufacturer called Magnum. Their proximity and awesomeness are the main reasons I picked up a 2013 Evora last month.

Are those airbag panels popped open? That might be one reason this car has been up for sale since before I was shopping months ago.

Not sure, but when I went from 2-seater Porsche to "4-seater" Lotus my insurance would have literally doubled if I'd stuck with State Farm. I blame 25% higher sticker and composite body panels.

2012+ Evoras have outsourced interiors for better initial quality and reliability, but I have no idea who it was outsourced to or how much better it will hold up.

Lotus did replace the flywheel with a lighter one, so you'd need to get one of those, but otherwise yeah it should be preposterously easy to maintain.

I suggest you drive both. I just went from '13 Boxster to '13 Evora a month ago and I'll never look back, even with this news today. However, I'm not too worried about my local dealer collapsing because they don't make all their money selling Evoras, so, that helps. I would also imagine a lack of supply would cause

I just got ~$20k (more than the entire Abarth after savings!) off of a new 2013 Lotus Evora, with everything I could ever want on it. BAM!

Around Jalopnik Lotus is a sacred name with "simplify, then add lightness" being quoted like it's the Gospel. To the rest of the world Lotus means nothing and the Elise is just a tiny Ferrari.

I daily drive an Evora, but sometimes have to take my girlfriend's Versa on errands, because trunk. I helped her buy it (used) because it was quite a bit cheaper than a Fit, and I think outside of the numb steering it's a blast to drive; corners surprisingly flat when you throw it into a turn.

My Boxster (and I assume all of them) had an antenna down the middle of the windshield, and I always wondered if that would attract a bolt and cover my girlfriend and me in shattered/molten glass. That or it could maybe be attracted to the roof, light the surrounding cloth on fire, which would then melt/explode the
