Disney couldn’t have chosen a more soulless open world design than Ubisoft’s generic blueprint... though I will say that Valhalla is a marked improvement over Odyssey.

Sekiro on the other hand (a game people literally complained needs an easy mode, including Dark Souls freaks), I am having JOY playing.

From Software figured out that having to take your thumb off the right stick in order to attack an enemy was a bad deal. Being able to control the camera while attacking/parrying becomes particularly important in difficult games that demand strict timing, i.e. Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Sekiro.

I’m disappointed that DOOM Eternal has been forgotten so quickly. But this list is still mostly great.

If Doomguy fight endless waves of hellspawn for decades, I'll pretty sure he can handle the Zerg. I think he could be bumped a rank.

I have to post a second comment, cause you forgot the worst video game name of the year: Xbox Series X/S

It wouldn’t solve all our problems, but a moratorium on using colons (:) would resolve a lot of bad names.

    I was wondering about this.

Well, the original Goldeneye/PD team left Rare long, long ago, to form Free Radical and create TimeSplitters. But that was a different era, so we don’t necessarily need the same team.

His final smash should be Meteor, and everybody loses.

It’s the problem with some of the reviewing outfits for games nowadays, readers need a critical lens for the reviews, not a review written as a personal diary.

I don’t know why this review expects the game to “say” something about diversity or trans culture or the world.

SNES is truly the best, if only because nearly every controller since has used it as a foundation.

I’m not slamming people who get paid, just establishing the expectation that sometimes, people are done. Games are good when skilled and passionate developers make them. When the passion leaves, the quality does, too. A company sold is often times a developer moving on; we should, too.

I am going to guess a similar thing happened when MS bought the gears franchise from Epic to form Coalition.

“The PS5 can support [120fps] but no modern games coming out for it are going to.

How long before Bioware joins other EA studios in the long night?

RIP the next Mass Effect game. It had an inkling of hope once Casey Hudson returned.

This line of woe-be-women thinking just doesn’t hold water when Joel himself is “fridged.”

Fahey: Unfortunately, I can’t say, because I lost The Last of Us after his first daughter died. I was like “He’s just gonna replace his daughter now? Screw this.”
