That $40 was padded in to the cost of previous plans though. On average, if you have 2 smartphones or more addtl lines, the SE plans save you money against those old plans, and provide you more talk time (ie, unlimited, not 1400 mins)

I'm curious though: how many phones do you have? Are they smartphones, or basic? Do you have enabled hotspot? And how much do you pay a month? Further to that, how much data do you use?
