Two cars.

First was a CSP prepped Miata. I knew miatas were awesome, but I'd never driven one that was truly well set up. It was mind blowing. Keep in mind, you will never truly get the gist of a miata until you drive it on an autocross course.

Second, a mildly prepped Evo 9. Fuck.. Me... Again on an autocross

It's safe to assume that the 6MT is roughly 1 gear more than the DSG. My 6th is the MT's 5th.

If you do it yourself it won't cost but around $240 for the DSG fluid, filter, oil, filters, etc. It only takes about 2 hours, and most of that is just waiting for fluid to refill if you do it from the top side. If you buy the fancy tool you can knock it out in probably 45 minutes.

Just hit 80k in my golf and am ready

The ratio's are different. In 6th at 40 it's around 1300-1400 rpm. 60 nets that 1800-1900 sweet spot, and 70 is right around 2100-2200.

I never seem to see over 40 if i'm doing 45 for a stretch, but once I get it up to 55 or so the mpg's skyrocket. '11 TDI DSG

I've found that at lower speeds you tend to not see a bigger increase, if you're driving on highway like roads. You really don't start to see great mileage until you're in the 55-65mph range.

That is of course, unless you're on backroads where you can ebb and flow up to 60 or 70 and coast for a solid minute back

Welcome to the 21st century

I'll stick to drinking wine.

A professor in college used this song as an example of evolutionary differences in mating.

Music. to get laid.

Actually, it was "If that's what you're into"... my bad

The vocal chords (cords?) and tongue/throat are all muscles that can be trained just like your biceps and triceps. It just takes time.

When I first started playing saxophone I didn't even know what an overtone was. When I stopped, I could easily play multiple octaves while "playing" one note. It's all a

Now playing

Reminds me a lot of Michael Brecker's Delta City Blues

That steering wheel is so terrible

I don't know, but It just doesn't seem like a name that would go over well with most americans.

You'll love going into the GTI. I don't care for them personally, as i'm a bit more economy minded - which is why I drive a TDI - but they are awesome cars. The interior is a thousand times more comfortable and upscale from most other brands in that price range. The powerband is smooth, the suspension is wonderful.

I agree wholeheartedly. Hell, they could even change the name to something more palatable in the states. I would love a Leon Cupra R.

Is good for you

A car is not an investment and people need to stop suggesting that it is. It's a mode of transportation 99.9% of the time and will never appreciate, regardless of the vehicle. It's a necessary piece of equipment for many people in order to have and maintain a job.

To say a new car is a bad investment is like saying

You're also not using biscuits for any sort of stressed joint, where in a few situations you can easily use dowels. Biscuits are more so used for alignment over anything else.

In the end it's just helping make a butt joint somewhat stronger, but not to the point where it's an actually strong joint. Dowels are similar

Biscuits are quicker. You line up a pencilmark in the center of the board where you want your biscuit, align that with the joiner, and voila, biscuit.

It just makes the task quicker. The strength is considerably less than an equivalent joint with dowels, but you could make 10x the amount with biscuits in the amount

There's really no need for one, but if you insist, there are always loads of them available on craigslist.

A dado blade in your table saw will take you much further than a biscuit joiner will.
