And yet people still bitched and moaned when they went up.

Right on the money! :)

Words can not express how happy I am that you said this. :)

Are you seriously trying to pull some gaslighting bull crap here?

"Why should they be forced to include a woman when she is irrelevant?"

What you just said is a false equivalence. You are mistaking the discussion of having more women working in the games industry with having women up on stage to present a game.

If instead of hating on Patricia and they actually bothered to listen and understand her position, then it might not be so bad. If men want to stop getting called out for crap, then they need to shape up because I'm male, and I see a lot these Kotaku commentators and just... well... see picture.

I'd rather they not fake it by hiring women just to present their products.

Here Phunkshun,

Why's that?

Nice try.

THANK YOU!

Said the kettle to the pot...

YES!

Hopefully this will change in the future as there are quite a few women in game design that deserve far more recognition than they typically get.

Check some of my other comments to get some insight.

I hope so. The big titles that broke the million dollar mark are the ones that are going to get the most attention because of how high profile they are. But even so, there are lots of other smaller games out there from equally talented developers including some that have been making games for decades now!

Kotaku's policy towards Kickstarter changed secretly without anyone's knowledge. The editors actively voted inside Kotaku to cut down on all Kickstarter related news. They cherry pick what they want to report on, and ignore all the other stuff going on; including when Kickstarter games are finished AND released!

Oh come on guys! Low blow!
