I use Thunderbird here to access my GMail account. With a few extensions and tweaks, it does almost as well, and has the great advantage of working even when I'm offline. It also gives me the ability to use multiple personas easily, with individual signature lines, and proper sender names (rather than the "posting

Actually, the mapping of labels to folders in GMail's IMAP implementation is done by GMail, not by Thunderbird (Which just logs on to it as any other IMAP service).

Okay, here's a simple challenge for you. Balance a broom on your finger. Oh, and that broomstick has a joint in the middle.

I'm not sure why you're crediting Christian Bauer (Which links to an unrelated page ("Top Websites for Buying Gourmet Cheese Online") by Daniel Workman) for the top image, when that image is clearly of Wallace and Gromit, from their early short "A Grand Day Out", which is © Aardman Animation.

You know, in Europe, and in the UK especially, where regular vehicle testing is mandatory, with headlight aiming being part of that testing, and the beam angle/area is dependent on the ground, not the height of the car, (and where people understand where to use and not use their high beam/brights), HID and Projector

It seems to me that if you used thinner wood for the middle uprights, and a solid capping strip over the gap, it would look more seamless and solid (certainly moreso than it does at the moment) and hide the gap a lot better.

They failed. The Canadian company is MegaBloks, and they don't have the tubes underneath. In fact, MegaBloks developed their system independently of Lego, but re-scaled their system to be compatible. However, MegaBloks are made with less-strict tolerances than Lego, so Lego-Lego connections are more firm than

Mega Bloks are an (unfortunately Canadian) rip-off of Lego, and the tolerances on their pieces are measured in milimeters, rather than microns (as Lego do). Lego did try to sue them for it, and lost, which is why Mega Bloks and Lego can inter-connect, but the connection between Mega Bloks and Lego (and between Mega

My wife learned from her time working in a restaurant that the best thing to use is coffee filter papers, the big round basket kind, and white vinegar. They soak up the vinegar, but are totally lint free.

Wasn't this in the original Tomb Raider? ISTR Lara dual-wielding these

Yup. If CyanogenMod don't have an official release for your phone, you can bet that SOMEONE's ported it. I mean, you can get ICS on a Galaxy Gio these days, and those run ARMv6!

Given the A1000 was out in '85, that means you've got the world of MODs to play with, including such great tracks as this one.

It isn't aired in the US. Welcome to Karma finally catching up for all the US-only shows we couldn't get.

Not quite. In fact, not at all. Omnimax produced a 360-degree image in 360 degrees. This takes a regular 16:9 TV stream and "makes up" low-res content to pad out the sides. From the looks of it, it starts with duplicated versions of the left-most, right-most and top-most lines of pixels and makes a smeared copy of

"Adding a dongle, as suggested in other comments, only partially solves things. if i wish to upload files from a colleague's usb key to some online storage thing while travelling, do i have to transfer those files first and then fix the dongle? or use a powered hub maybe? double the work & time. simply makes no sense.

So, rather than be tied to a specific carrier, you can get a Surface cheaper, and use a USB dongle (both tablets have USB, after all) to get connectivity from your carrier of choice. Or get a MiFi. Or tether it to your cellphone (you do HAVE a cellphone, right?). Or find a nearby phone line and connect over dial-up

I thought it was talc. At least, that's what Tank Girl taught me...

The problem is that all arable land is swamp (because of the icecaps melting). Any new construction (roads etc) is nuked before the next turn, so the world has almost effectively reached stalemate.

Don't forget those gold-plated optical interconnects.
