This is the exact feeling I had as I read the article. I’m a vet myself and have a lot of negative feelings about my service in Afghanistan, especially when my Air Medal citations all list the associated EKIA. It’s icky.  I almost wish they hadn’t mentioned his Dominican Republic service.

You assume it’s already “packaged nicely.” The truth is that if we were using the latest and greatest tech it would probably be 1/4 the size of what it actually occupies. I have no doubt that we could fit our capability into a G550. It would require some re-tooling, but it is doable.

For the kind of work that Compass Call does, we don’t need to land on rough fields and do short take offs. And with the mission equipment on board we barely have enough space for ourselves and our lunchboxes :P We mostly need to be able to loiter in an area for a long period of time, hence the need for fuel…
