Sonic Chronicles developed by Bioware. this game is actually really good, if you want a Sonic RPG then it’s highly recommended.

The game you’re imagining already exists, and by all accounts it wasn’t very good because the Sonic franchise is all about going fast, which you can’t really do in a turn based RPG.

Super Paper Sonic. That would be a wild ride.

There’s a lot of fanservice, but as someone who came to the series only a few years ago and had to have my wife explain to me 60-70% of the references as I played it was still amusing, and if anything encouraged me to catch up on the show (it became a bit of a scavenger hunt of “Oh that’s where that joke comes from”).

It was very, very heavy on the fanservice, to the point where a great deal of items/spells/lines were taken verbatim from the show. Even some entire scenes (like Morgan Freeman showing up at the end) are copied directly from South Park the TV show. I actually hope Fractured But Whole has a lot more original stuff.
