*bzzt* Nope, you (once again) just own a non-transferable license to play the game.
It launched as a tool to handle updates & servers for Team Fortress Classic & Counter-Strike post-1.6.
They were either completely unlicensed or a semi-official thing made by ATGames, which had dreadful software.
Are we sure? Nintendo are well known for switching up form factors mid-generation to differentiate the products with no care for prior accessories.
Minecraft probably won’t happen because the cross-play support would require them to switch the codebase over to the Bedrock engine. It would also require them to implement Xbox Live support, which I don’t think Sony would allow.
They are being honoured.
The Dev’s won’t get a further ‘18%’ because a) the money goes to the publisher who have likely already negotiated with 4A how much money they are due and b) the cost of the game has been reduced by $10 (in the US), which effectively means after the store cut, Deep Silver are making $2 extra per sale.
I think it’s single player only, but this will be the case if game hasn’t invested in a universal multiplayer back-end. Games sold on GOG often run into this issue because dev’s hung their back-end off Steamworks or some other system (No Man’s Sky?)...

For fucks sake... “Hosting hundreds of servers around the world holding exabytes of data and the associated development and support that keeps them running” is not “doing nothing”.
*Same* service?
Which they probably will do if/when the Fortnite well runs dry.

EA’s marketplace isn’t vertical - they offer keys via lots of other online shops, including Amazon who discount the digital keys frequently (I got Titanfall 2 for £3.99 on Amazon last year in a lightning deal/price snafu).
The thing is, pretty much everything Valve does at the moment is *not* standard for games launched on Epic’s store (yet).... They’ve promised access to a load of tools & services, but in reality, there’s currently very little of the back-end that Valve offer in place.
In a year or two’s time, they might well have a…
