Oh? Tell me how I'm wrong?
Oh? Tell me how I'm wrong?
Oh, and don't dismiss replies because you don't like being wrong. It's petty and unscrupulous.
There isn't a single big retailer who would give an HVAC contractor network access to perform these responsibilities. Not one.
Oh and FYI, THERE'S NO NEED TO CREATE A VPN TUNNEL, DIPSHIT.
No it doesn't. Emulation interfaces rarely if ever allow you to upload files you fucking idiot. They don't even work on ports that ALLOW file transmissions.
However most large corporates have their own networks to which their devices connect to.
If you understood networking, VLANs, network security, PCI compliance, and network segregation, you'd understand that what you're saying is overly-simplistic, and doesn't apply to big-box retailers.
Nobody mentioned VPN. There would be no sense in setting up a tunnel for a simple HVAC utility.
No. I worked for Sears and I can assure you, other retailers know how to implement proper PCI controls, such as VLANs to segregate traffic.
Obvs, no.
Software existing on the same system won't inherently grant access. It is the existence of the remote connection on the same subnet of the POS system.
Not really. I opened the first Sears Grand (which was Sears' first fully automated store), which had segregated traffic for the HVAC systems because PCI compliance requires it. We even had separate internet connections for them.
And a competent IT professional would have segregated the different networks into VLANs, or even physically segregated them.
Well, there's a civil battle for you to take on.
Their base isn't using old shit. Their base is the vast majority of working Americans...think about that. ADP requires IE8 at minimum for all portal products.
I'm really missing the part where it is somehow inconceivable for them to simply relocate the birds??
Actually, ADP's policy is usually that they won't go to enormous lengths to support old technology. When I was there we ended all IE7 support and told the clients to upgrade if they couldn't access any portal or NetSecure products.
Not if it's part of ADP NetSecure. Chrome won't install the cert, which is a problem with Chrome, not ADP.
Not even remotely true. I worked for ADP for 5 years...it has to do with what their base is using, nothing more.
I really can't manage to say anything other than that you're a fucking moron.
