I report with a heavy heart that these used to be my jam. I do, however, still shake the container to dress a salad from a salad bar. Lyfe skills. Mcdonalds taught 'em.

Hey, would you mind if I shared this comment to Groupthink?

Absolutely! It's just a silly rib about how we black folks name our children! Like that "Le-a/Lee-dash-a" one that's ever so popular on Stormfront... That's a real knee-slapper, that one is!! Why don't we lighten up?

He did something that most people would not be able to do: He realized that others might find it offensive without anyone telling him and he apologized. That is a lot more than most people would have done. It also baffles me that so many White people are so quick to condemn him as if they have never committed a racist

Please explain how implying that every single black person in America is illiterate is not racist.

notice how the world and comedy as we know it didnt come to an end

It's amazing the people on here who are like, "get a grip, he didn't say you guys were dumb, just your names!" Because that's ok.

Labeling something "comedy" doesn't make it immune from criticism and it certainly doesn't change the fact that it's offensive. If Sacco had said what she said in her tweet in a comedy club, she would have gotten applause, but because she's in PR and she said it on her corporate Twitter account, the entire internet

Yeah, dude. No one is perfect. But that doesn't mean we get to ignore, not criticize, and not apologize for our mistakes. The fact that Martin deleted the tweet and apologized for it further proves to me what a great comedian he is. To be one of the greats you HAVE to be able to recognize when that joke about race was

See, this is why so many feminists of color avoid this website. Whenever there's a topic about racism, you have a bunch of people defending it to the best of their ability. I'm just laughing at how many people are like, "he wasn't making fun of black people's intelligence! he was making fun of black people's names!"

That's exactly right, what you're saying about it being culturally ingrained.

Which is frightening because you have to THINK about it. It's ingrained in you subconsciously by the culture and it just comes out.

Glad he at least made a proper apology. Growing up in a racially-diverse school where the white kids tended to be from deeper in the suburbs, I can't tell you how many people I heard make ad nauseam "LOLOL 'ghetto names'" jokes who would have been aghast if you suggested that was racist.

The problem isn't smartphones. The problem is not taking about 3 milliseconds to think about what they are about to say before they do it.

I would have no problem loving them both.

Why must Hiddleston and Cumberbatch people fight?

Absolutely no question who the winner is...

My ovaries have exploded and I am dead.

Pants off Dance off, and GO.

I wish I could star this comment 1000 times.....
