I knew this, so I bought an auto when I would have preferred a manual.  Most tests of the manual GT’s mention it.

I too, thought they were Getrag. I’ve only testdrove an ecoboost Mustang, but was impressed with it.

It was caught early... but NHTSA did a half-assed investigation and found “there is no indication of loss of motive power or unreasonable safety risk associated with the alleged defect in the subject vehicles.”... which in hindsight was clearly bullshit.

They were well aware, just cheap bastards.

These ere Mustang drivers. Most of them crashed when putting the car under the kind of stress that might have shown that failure point.

People catch this thing, it’s just cheaper for the company to not be liable to replace them.

It was caught TONS of times... whole Youtube channels based on the issue... and the reason its more recent is the changes to the MT82 with the introduction of the 2015 Mustang (and more changes in the S550 refresh, was that 2018?).
