That’s not the point. Right now even if sales were through the roof in Japan the process to get a car available for sale there is far more onerous than what we require of them. Its a protectionist tactic of Japan that hinders American opportunities and should be dealt with. No one is trying to force the Japanese to

Government intervention to benefit society as a whole, bad!
Government intervention to enrich me personally, good!

Yes, the world was truly apocalyptic back in 2010. People wouldn’t leave their houses for fear of being hit by a car or choking to death on fumes.

They have no incentive to. The people making the calls are incentivized (via big bonuses) to cut all “nonessential” costs in order to post bigger profits to their investors every year. Putting aside money cuts into profits.

Because a significant number of small businesses operate on very low margins (or their supply chain does). Many don’t make enough profit to have a rainy day fund. Those that do may only keep a month to six months worth (while assuming lower revenue). Having no revenue at all come in will very quickly eat through that.

If we imagined that all major world automakers went out of business, how would you rebuild in your more perfect new world?

2nd: It’s really simple: The leader of Saudi Arabia is a completely unhinged asshole, and the leader of Russia is not unhinged, but a fairly hidebound and therefore inflexible asshole. They are used to being the bigger asshole until the other person gives up and goes away (and/or dies in circumstances that only seem

that’s just the (relatively) powerful having fever dreams. They will NOT have that level of control over their business nor their community.

Should there be a euthanasia program, or at least a voluntary suicide clause?

We should assume everyone has it at this point, either as a non-symptomatic carrier, or pre-symptoms.

It just goes to show you that the rich don’t make money, the workers make money *for them* and without workers, the rich are getting very nervous indeed.

I put about 20% of my income towards my retirement fund, and at least 10% is discretionary spending - isn’t that kinda the norm?

You’re correct, but it’s also worth noting that the salary is the part that most directly impacts cashflow and thus the ability to do things like pay workers.

In two months, it is going to be such a rockin time to car shop.

Nice idea but they don’t care. They are lying their way through this and are trying to be the first one out and a new leading economy. COVID was a godsend to the Chinese economy. Before COVID their failing economy was all on them but now they have the world collapsing with them and they are a few months farther in the

THIS.

Some Indycar racing is far and away better than no Indycar racing. As stoked as I was just a month ago for the start of the upcoming season, and as equally disappointing as it is to have it all pushed back, at least they’re making the right calls in postponing the events and attempting for SOME racing in 2020 at later

I’m legitimately more stoked for the doubleheader-NASCAR/INDY weekend July 4th. Assuming it actually happens, this is the first time both series have raced at the same track on the same weekend, ever.

I’m reasonably certain there won’t be a 2020 season in most physical-world motorsports.

For the big international series, they won’t be able to move their people and equipment around as countries with more intelligent leadership than our own will maintain travel restrictions and gathering size restrictions until after

Personally, my hope is that out of this we redesign how unemployment insurance works in this country.
