Had one. ‘92 with the 3.1 silver with red interior. Really not a bad vehicle for a daily for the wife and 2 little kids. Crappy clearcoat as was the norm for Chevy in those days. Bought it in early ‘93 from a dealer who didn’t tell me it was a rental. Later found a Hertz card in the ebrake.

I understand your point but don’t we owe it to ourselves to ask if it’s really smart to put all our eggs into the F-35 basket? Couldn’t some super hornets and Silent eagles help take the load off the strike fighter in lower risk situations?

Non power brakes were how I learned to drive.

Whatcha driving there, voyager?

Personally I haven’t encountered it in vvt engines but I have had a couple people tell me they have in cases where the oil change interval has been too long.

Almost anyone would by comparison.

Trans slipping? Hearing a tick from the engine (common with hemis)? Any fluid leaks? Have you kept up with maintenance? If so and you don’t have any of the above issues I’d say you’re good. OTOH they’re making great deals on new trucks now if you just want a change.

Two things that will surprise me: that Trump sticks around for more than a year with his thin skin, being constantly criticized; and that there’s no major primary challenge within the GOP if I’m wrong on the first part.

IIRC when these came out Car and Driver put a well dressed guy in one with no money to see if just the appearance of being well off was enough to get people to help him get across the country, and it worked.

My condolences. Of course at the time I would have loved to have a crossfire vette because hey what teenager wouldn’t want a vette?

Always nice to hear from non American Jalops. Thank you, sir. Or ma’am.

I prefer the term “fun size”.

You’re doing the bulk of the work right there with the scheduled maintenance. 7k a year is very low and I doubt that trailer imposes much strain. Make sure to do the differential when it’s called for, people tend to overlook that one. (Nobody likes to do it diff fluid literally stinks). Shocks if you haven’t already,

Definitely not and good job on your part getting there. Interested to know which engine you have. There are outliers in any sample, I just see more high mileage Chevy and Fords. Of course there are more to begin with. Simply my experience and as always ymmv.

Diesel is a different thing altogether. But yeah good for him.

Well it’s about the same as with anything else, it’s just that like most vehicles they need maintenance and most people will trade before they put a trans in a 10 year old truck which is the usual point of failure for these.

I have a ram with 150k. Mine will make it because I’m in the auto repair business but most wouldn’t.

Dude I came along the same year as the mustang and GTO. I totally feel your pain.

Thank you. I had my first kid while daily driving an ‘81 Plymouth Champ and a standard cab Toyota pickup. Yeah not twins sure but you can still do it. Keep the fun car as long as you can.
