I wasn't really talking about autonomous robot soldiers, that's far-future stuff; more like remotely controlled drones like the flying ones we have, only mostly humanoid.

Well, at this point, "protecting the soldiers" technology is in a race with "replacing the soldiers" technology. It's possible that by the point where we have breathable armored suits, we may have practical bipedal drones.

Gun laws in Japan are weird?

The second point being that these things are why women are not so depicted in games. Fiction often plays off of reality.

I thought his point was pretty self-evident, but then again I don't suffer from persecution complex regarding feminists.

I'm pretty sure Lamer meant the norm in fantasy illustration, rather than in actual armored melee warfare which—you may have noticed—fell out of fashion some centuries ago.

Also, why is it that on every article that Gizmodo posts that says something is cool or good, and I mean -every- article, there always has to be a comment from someone who says "Well I think it sucks"

Can someone please explain where this bad notion of the "crunch time" came from?

Well, both the PC and the current-gen consoles have well-developed online infrastructures. What makes the handhelds more "social"? Are you talking about being physically present with other players?

Because its one of those games that way better on handhelds.

It's not you, it's really not very sharp. The development kit is ridiculously low-resolution. The consumer version is supposed to be sharper.

Pish, I don't know. Something definitely richer than just voice. If you pick up a corpse's phone, for example, there would be voicemail from *other* people, there would be notes, memos, photos, etc. You can definitely tell a story or enrich a background with those.

You and me, mate. My socks weren't blown off, but they were almost accidentally inhaled during a yawn.

Personally, I'm fucking sick of the "voice recording" as a story delivery mechanism. If it were justified in any way (like listening to someone's voicemail), fine, but not in the current horribly clunky implementation.

That's the thing; when I want a story with authored pacing, I'll watch a movie. I play games so I can take control of the pacing myself.

You do have a point, and that's precisely why I avoid military shooters like herpes-covered cancer.

Let me turn that around. How difficult is it for a fucking web browser to display portrait video in portrait orientation? They seem to do fine with portrait images...

Ok, so what exactly is the advantage of a Steambox again? The good thing about regular consoles is generally standardized hardware, which means more optimized drivers and no driver-related bollockery. If the Steambox supports all hardware, how is it different from a Windows PC, except for shit backwards compatibility?
