Try Samurai Shortstop - about the introduction of baseball into modernizing Japan - http://a.co/5mo8zl0 or the Legend of Mickey Tussler http://a.co/guPptO8 - about a baseball player who befriends a kid with autism. Both should be good for middle grade readers

This is the world we live in - now is the time to work to change it.

I just give up. I’m sitting here sobbing, and the worst thing is that, out of everyone, as a white female, I will probably be the most insulated of any female voter in this election. I know I will get the benefit of the doubt from police officers, that most people will assume I’m a Republican because I’m in a red

I dressed up as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, for an event at work. I’m leaving it on to hand out candy.

I originally posted this story in the Scary Stories contest in 2011, but I thought I’d bring it back because I have an addendum to the story.

I looked at Baylor when I was in high school, mainly because others outside my family pushed me to do so. My parents and I went for a tour, heard the housing rules - no men in the dorms, strict curfew, visitation hours for family and friends - and we noped out of there. As my mom said, she fought (and won) to overturn

As a Longhorn alumni, this sickens and saddens me. My thoughts are with her friends and family, and I hope the UTPD and APD can find the killer and keep the rest of the campus family safe.

I’m just going to bookmark this page for futher review.

That my parents could return me to Kids-r-us as long as they had the receipt.

This, yes. I remember someone giving me a lecture when I said something derogatory about George W. Bush’s policies - “He’s the president, and you have to respect the president. Respect that office!”

I was in seventh grade when all this happened, and I remember watching the trial every day in my broadcast journalism class. It was the wackiest thing ever, and I have (fond?!?) memories of it. Looking forward to bringing them back, since this looks just as, if not more, wacky as the real thing.

You might get lucky. My mom met him once (not on purpose) and he just stared at her boobs.

I saw Nathan Fillion and Chris Hardwicke; Adam Sandler almost bumped into me in Cars Land and I saw the guys from Pawn Stars a while ago. Disneyland is better than Hollywood for celebrity spotting!

Thanks for the recommendation - I'm going to grab the copy at my library.

I was at one of my favorite restaurants in Austin a few weeks ago, when someone tried to pull that. The waitress brought them their bill, and suddenly, this women starts talking in this intentionally loud voice about how there was too much water in the beans and it made the tortillas soggy.

I've seen quite a few celebrities at Disneyland - Nathan Fillion, Chris Hardwick, and Adam Sandler - but just saw, not spoke to or anything.

If you didn't clap for Tinkerbell, you are an a-hole.

Yeah, that's the one I had, too. Late eighties/early nineties kid's book covers are the best.

Oh, Kerry Washington - you couldn't have waited just a few days until I was there to gaze upon you in person? Oh well, hope you had fun.
