SLPD Party Organizer #1: “OK. We have $2,500.00 left in the budget for Fredbird and the Police Lives Matter sign. How much does Fredbird cost again?”
SLPD Party Organizer #2: “$2,499.97.”

Lord knows, he can’t change.
Honestly, before I scrolled down, I thought it was because the bird is in blackface.

You can’t just choke all your problems away!
A suga cookie? What is he talking about suga cookie?
The Chappelle’s Show skit about this show was also called Making Da Band I believe.
The audience needed no reminder of how terrible ramsey is, but now Sansa truly knows.
The story’s not finished isn’t this critique a bit premature?
I think the writers were trying to build on the character-development of Theon. I’m not saying I think this is the best way to do it, but it was clearly set up to show Theon as the camera panned slowly to him and his reaction to the scene.
How the fuck is having someone rape their own wife not “building the character”? Don’t lecture people on storytelling if you’re that clueless about it.
I am surprised at how many people seem to think this was an “unnecessary” and gratuitous scene. It absolutely advanced both the plot and the character development.
So... what about the Drogo-Daenerys sex scene in the first season? That was okay because Theon wasn’t watching? You can’t know whether or not that scene adds to the narrative until you’ve finished the story, ya dingus.
Since no one has any idea what Theon is going to do next, you have no idea how that scene will forward the plot. They’re obviously veering away from the books, so this scene very well could have a pay off down the line. Theon may turn on Bolton and rescue Sansa, you have no idea.
I thought that Sansa looked in control when she brushed off the maid. Then she willed herself for the wedding, brushed off Theon and seemed ready. She even went through with the wedding, even after I thought that she might say no. Then Ramsay wants to consummate the marriage, which she slowly gets ready for, until he…
It did advance the plot line, everyone was too up in arms pearl clutching about Sansa, that they missed the facial gestures of Theon overcoming his Stockholm Syndrome for a future plot point... But no one cares about that, apparently.
Actually, I wasn’t sure they were going to go through with this, so this told me that there woudl in fact be real ramifications for Sansa marrying a known rapist and torture-fetishist. I mean, what exactly would you rather have happened, some Dues Ex come out of nowhere to keep Ramsey from doing what has been…
Have you seen the future episodes? I am sure the writers thought long and hard about why they needed to add the rape scene. Which was off camera by the way. It would have been pretty harsh to actually show it and the writers were sensitive to that fact.
I think they were building the character of Theon.
