Actually, I'm not arguing spelling. I'm referencing the dictionary. (Zoological illustration teacher rant :)

Sorry, but: 'Octopuses...octopi...octopodes? According to Merriam Webster editor Kory Stamper, all three are technically correct.' (Boing Boing)

Truth. And, picking locks and turning lights off and on. Recognize!

I take umbrage! Octopi are not weird and tentacled and gross. THEY ARE TEH AWESOME (and will someday be our overlords, so, respect). That is all.

Yeah I'm actually willing to go there, and I've had a lifelong relationship with the book and also love the film and musical. I think this is a refreshing notion that I hope will hold true to the REAL heart of the story, which is about embracing change through spiritual nourishment. I think that's an idea that can be

No idea, but I'm sure he will be wick!

Hot, British and talented. With that combo her name could be Gleepglop von Cockballstein and she'd still come out made of win!

As Robert Downey Jr. ejaculates in 'Weird Science,' I'm shitting in my pants!!

Well, it's thought that he's Eddard, in one sense - a decorated warrior hell-bent on seeing justice through. (Eddard also interestingly reflects William Hastings, the Lord Chamberlain who was actually assassinated by Richard.) Stannis is too tyrannical to be the real Richard and Tyrion has more of a wacky Falstaff

Hopefully made of win!

Lauren, love the 'don't be creepy' sketch. Well played!

This is fucking awesome, and I love that young people are rocking science through robotics, but I am still laughing at the edit in that video from a shot of Flipper panting frantically to a goddamned circular saw slicing through metal.

Oh WAHH I thought it was going to be a delicious trailer. Hurry up! SWINTON is always the bee's knees but I am glad to see Tom Hiddleston getting his sexy up in there, it's about time.

My EMT instructor told me once that he was called to a minor traffic accident where the driver had gotten out of the car and was standing there, looking confused. His partner, who was a n00b, yelled, 'Are you OK?' and the driver turned his head to the side to look at the EMT and his spinal column was instantly

I dunno, this reads like grasping at straws. The take-away most young children get from Richard Scarry books is that hunting for Goldbug is fun (and developmentally challenging). Dude's article was published in 2000 and references studies from the 1930s...I think the scholarship needs updating in terms of how

Frankly I'm digging that about GoT. I know everyone was all 'NO CHANGES ALLOWED' but I think the differences - and even the new or re-interpreted characters - can be refreshing!

Thank you George for the sincere warning. Every time Gawker posts something along these lines they don't give enough of a red flag and I end up feeling sick all day. I know nature is red in tooth and claw, and all that, but sometimes I'd rather just read a scientific article about it than see brutal imagery.

Yeah I didn't realize my copy had become such a thing until I told my students about it and got a lot of 'oohs.' Why'd it go out of print, I wonder? I would think nowadays art books for films like that would be super popular.
