Right, and the narrative of "our over-medicated society" is dangerous in that it contributes to the stigma surrounding psych meds. Some are over prescribed, sure, but others are very necessary & life saving for lots of people.

I've been stewing about this for a few hours, and wish I had teased it out a little bit by pointing out that not only was Debra Harrell arrested, but she was publicly humiliated in the press, which offered Skenazy a platform.

It's not enough anymore to pressure American mothers to be helicopter mothers. To look down upon those who didn't conform to helicopter parental standards. No. Now we must criminalize those who aren't helicopter parents. We now must arrest those who refuse to watch and pay attention to their child 100% of the time.
