It's was pouring here most of the day yesterday which I'm sure probably factored in. Once the weather gets nicer that stadium should be pretty busy most nights.

First of all I really appreciate your well reasoned response as opposed to the some of the other people on here who clearly don't care about any actual discussion.
If you watch only the slow mo replays of only the knockouts I could see how you would think that. But watch all the fights and watch how fighters reverse positions, escape from holds, perform take downs, etc. What you're describing is amateur boxing. There's a reason you don't just see the biggest punchers winning…
You're right, watching two people fight isn't skill, but what the fighters are doing actually is. Or do you not think Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, or jiu-jitsu take skill either?
Yeah my mom was born in Queens and raised on LI so my family are all die-hard Mets fans. I always thought that the Mets at least owned Long Island fandom. I was disappointed to find out a few years ago that that isn't (or at least no longer) the case. Sad to see that's true on this graphic too.
Yeahhhh... as a Met's fan this is disheartening and not at all surprising. Growing up in upstate NY the kids from my HS were about 96% Yankee fans, 3% Red Sox fans and 1% Mets fans. And this was before the Red Sox starting winning titles.
I agree with that point, I just don't think the comparison you used to make that point was accurate or fair.
Except I don't think anyone says that about the girls on that site. I think it's mainly meant to ridicule them, not encourage them.
I feel you. As a Pitt alum who didn't grow up here I didn't realize that I was signing myself up for yearly heartbreak when I enrolled 10 years ago.
I've never understood the GIF and photo comments that add absolutely nothing to a discussion. It's the primary reason I avoid most of the other Gawker sites.
I think 12 Years a Slave will deservedly win. I could see Gravity winning if all the voters saw it in 3D IMAX but I can't imagine that film having as much impact for everyone who saw it at home on a screener.
Whoa there, your list is way better than Buzzfeed lists, so you should move 896 up several spots. But even those are better than this Cereal list.
I've been seeing a lot more bars that have Jenga (or, better yet, Jumbo Jenga) at certain tables and it's goddamn outstanding if you're there playing with a group.

You probably didn't need to say you were a college student. I think the rest of your post made that fact very clear.
Yeah I agree with pretty much all your points on that. I do think American Hustle has that potential to end up a movie that wins because everyone thought it was good (even though very few thought it was great) and it didn't offend anyone and wasn't uncomfortable for anyone. I really do think 12 Years a Slave will…
"Everyone I've spoken to about it felt it was fine, but not worth seeing in the theater."
Can't really argue with this list. Though it may not be an "important" Christmas song, this has to be my favorite:
