I fail to understand the hype over wireless charging. It requires my phone to maintain contact with the charger and the can’t really be used without stopping the charge. At least using wired connection for charging I can my phone in my hand and use if needed.

That would probably work for slow speeds, but even a good controller does not have as much accuracy as a steering wheel and pedals, let alone feedback. There is no way I would trust a car to be driven at speed with a controller.
