Seriously. $300 on a belt? BFD. I've spent $300 at Target in one sitting on cheap shoes and decorative pillows. Hell, I've spent it in the drug store on Revlon and nail polishes. It's nobody's business how we spend our money, no matter how foolishly.

What people don't think about is the psychological effect that events like this, and policies like Stop-and-Frisk, have on the victims and their communities. It's not a simple inconvenience.

Yes, that's a valid argument. I just took a bit of umbrage to the OP saying it was "gross" to take a husband's name.
