He gives her money to give to charity?? Even when I was 5 years old and my father handed me $1 to put in the collection basket at church as it breezed by, something struck me as a little artificial about that system.

ha—thanks. Seriously, though, that left one....

That's how ours was, but I've attended other events where the so-called "open" bar was structured slightly differently. For example, I remember one wedding where the hosts paid in advance for a set number of pours, and then beyond that, people had to pay per drink. That's the sort of thing you see most often at

Yeah, I mean...my wedding took a lot of time to plan, I put a lot of effort into it, and it was expensive. And I guess I would have been a bit annoyed if some crashers had shown up to cadge free food & booze, but if I understand correctly, these people didn't cause any kind of actual disruption whatsoever, right? I

There's absolutely no earthly way she's worked in food service. Her claim that her response to impossible customer requests was "I said no, and that was that" pretty much completely exposes that lie. Her "no" is so effective that customers are powerless against it, and just back down? HA.

...no, they're not acting that way.

Brava!

Two thumbs up on the story, but part of me really admires this looney guy.

I love that not only did she not understand the diet she claimed to be on, but that she expected you to monitor her diet FOR her, and tell her what she could and couldn't eat.

I guess it depends on the context—this says it was in a pre-taped interview package, so I think whether she was responding to an off-camera question, or something, is relevant there.

And then there was Nancy Grace's nipple....

I did think about that, and it's a fair point. But I'm thinking more narrowly of the idea that she's expressing, which seems basically to be "this is how I want to dress. This is what feels right for me." And I feel like that should be enough, in that case.

OK, but...if we roll our eyes at Candace Cameron in this instance, aren't we basically saying that her reason for claiming autonomy over her own body is less valid than other people's reasons? Is there really a WRONG reason to exercise your right to dress as makes you most comfortable?

And what's the deal with her needing to whisk the baby away to clean her up and then clean up Kanye? She was wearing a zillion-dollar white dress. Is he unable to wipe up his own chest?

As most others have said, I'd tread reaaaaaaally carefully with that one. I *regularly* get "oh wow, you've lost weight!" from people I haven't seen in a while, and let me just tell you: I have not lost weight. I've been at the same weight for the past 12 years. There's no change. So when people say that, all I hear

I know, I so confused by her statement...does she imagine that our bodies synthesize Vitamin D from sunlight in a *site-specific* way? What an incredibly inefficient process that would be.

I can pretty well follow along with her until right here: "It's not like this is somebody that's been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, 'I don't support this lifestyle or whatever.'"

As much as it minimizes and patronizes and objectifies elderly people to dismiss them as simply "cute," it patronizes them to suggest that they probably don't know or understand what Instagram is. The linked article shows every indication that this woman is sharp and lucid and clear on what's going on. Instagram is

I guess there's only so much you can do with an immovable force like that.

Ugh, I can imagine. What does your husband/partner say?
