Well, if any of this eyebrow-raising is being shot in my direction, I assure you it's unwarranted. I'm definitely as repulsed and disgusted with Deen as everyone else posting. But it is insulting to southern progressives who are actively fighting on the front lines in social justice issues broadly, and specifically

Do you honestly think and can you honestly say that you don't know people from the south that believe these lines of thinking are abhorrent? You are stereotyping, and by doing so, you are granting unnecessary leeway to Deen and people like her from what is quite simply, very blatant racism. It's not good, or right, or

I don't get your tone, are you granting her leeway for being a white woman from the south, or are you relying on some pretty stale stereotypes and throwing up your hands in disgust? Because, I assure you, while there are a lot of racists in the south, there are progressive (or in some cases, at least modernized) views

Good grief. I didn't know all of that awfulness has marked her life. She was such a beautiful, warm presence on the home cook show last year in the US, what was it, The Taste, I think? A breath of fresh air on a panel of largely cranky, conceited chefs. This story deeply saddens me. Knowing this about her history just

Thanks to the responders. I am an old and have yet to embrace or appreciate the value of immediate 140 character brain farts to the universe.

I don't quite get this- is it a parody account? Forgive me, I'm in the Dark Ages when it comes to understanding Twitter.

Hey, thanks for sharing that. I wish more were like you. In my own online debates with those types, I don't sense much affinity for self-reflection, or authentic consideration of others' viewpoints. There doesn't seem to be a starting place with many of them, so it amounts to an exercise in severe frustration.

Man, I wish the powers that be would have given Dollhouse a little longer to find its footing.

What I don't get (I mean, really don't get), is why MRA/AVfM types even come here? Don't they have enough sandboxes? Must they shit in ours too?

Oh that's utter bullshit. Show your work, if you have any.

Yes! This so much! It's completely disingenuous, in almost all cases of "ignorance." I call bullshit. And, no, it's not Lindy's job to have shit flung at her because she's a woman on the internet. Period.

That's definitely a part of it, sofar. Think of the whiplash-inducing shows that are also incredibly popular in contemporary culture- I'm thinking of True Blood and Breaking Bad, as two. Here, you really have to downshift and settle in to be told an epic tale.

Hell, yes! Now I did miss her in the finale. Could have used a good Queen of Thorns quip or two.

I hear you. Don't worry. I'm not a spoiler troll. I have so many friends who love the show and then quiz me, "Tell me this...but don't tell me this..." It's a delicate little dance of this much but not THIS much...I try to be considerate. And heck, I only know as much as anybody who's up to speed.

His casting was perfect, I agree. Several others as well. I don't think there are very many characters at all that were poorly cast. Even ones I was unsure of at first have grown on me.

Oh, indeed- but that's how enthralling even the religious aspects are for me- I love how GRRM has allowed just enough supernatural elements in his universe that even skeptics see some inexplicable events unfold. But the most adherent don't necessarily know how or why the magic is happening.

Awww, I thought that was vague and non-specific enough. I just hear so many people grumble, "Why is he HEEEERE" and I wanna say something so badly. Just a little something.

A Storm of Swords was soooo long and action-packed, the showrunners decided to split it into two seasons. So that's why we didn't get the payoff everyone in the universe wants.

I'd also mention that Mel has alluded to the fact that the signs aren't always clear. She definitely, clearly is a True Believer, but she doesn't claim to have perfect knowledge of the Lord of Light's intentions or the future of the realm.

I get fed up too with Sam-haters. He serves a larger purpose—end game larger-purpose, non-bookies! Please, just a little patience. Please?
