Kia Soul deserves to be here

As a general rule, do not want anything with the words “Applique” in it.

I’m holding out on a VW Microbus EV to replace my ‘11 T&C but I applaud any company that continues to bring out Minivans!!!

but no tow package :(

yes you do lose stow and go, and also no tow package on the plug in hybrid (if there was I’d have already replaced my pop-up-trailer towing ‘11 Town and Country with one)

Compared to S-class rear seats yeah they’re less comfy but Stow and go seats are brilliant and perfectly fine for the rest of us.

On BringATrailer this would have brought $10k, easily.

AWD? For getting all that power down when sliding sideways through a slow speed corner in the wet I assume?

Never heard of Alpine but if it’s more than ~60miles from NW Houston I’d take the Town and Country ;) If we didn’t just buy a pop-up camper I’d already have a plug-in Pacifica, but since we’ll be towing a camper for a few years we’ll be keeping the dirty old T&C around. At least until there’s a plug-in with ~3000lbs

-$7500 fed credit, and sometimes additional state incentive, correct? Of course there’s also fuel savings - in my case ~$750/yr with $2/gal gas and $0.11/kwhr electricity, 10k miles year), but most people don’t consider that (as much as Tesla tries to slip them into their “price”).

ok, so 125 miles of range will “cut it” for 55%. How many tens of millions of people now driving gas cars is that?

funny, the 125 mile range of my leased BMW i3 has been more than enough for me as a daily driver/commuter in Houston for almost 2 years.

Now playing

I drove ~300 laps of the NS between 1998 and 2013 (hope to go back and modestly add to that # someday), always driving rental cars. Including one lucky Opel Speedster I “rented” from a local dealer 4 times over 2 years... The barrier damage done had I crashed (which I never did, closest was briefly leaving the tarmac

shame not an EV with 500hp&lbft

true the helper springs I put in my T&C do firm up the ride when empty/no tongue weight, but I think of it more like “sport suspension”. Still perfectly  tolerable, but then again the stock T&C ride could charitably be described as “cloud like” :)

towing capacity has more to do with suspension/chassis than motor power. My Town and Country has plenty of power for our ~3000lb pop up but need to be careful with tongue weight. I welded a bike rack on back of camper to reduce tongue weight from ~350 to ~275lbs. Any heavier exceeds the max tongue weight (even with

does this actually have a full, lifting hatchback?? Damn, really like what Hyundai/Kia are doing lately. Actually, ever since the 2nd gen Soul they’ve been kicking out machines with forward looking form and function.

totally agree. Love the sliders on my Town and Country, especially for child car seats. Remember seeing these while living in Germany, always thought they were cool:
