Lots of things about this story make me uncomfortable. However, I think it would be cool if he got a modeling opportunity or some other break because of this.

Thanks. Social change needs both hope and commitment to collective action. We'll see!

Maybe indirectly, through activities designed to increase awareness and commitment to the ultimate goal of reforms. Ideally, such activities would be very visible and have a media presence, and articulate the need for reform to declining membership and need for younger/progressive members. I am somewhat optimistic

That's fair. Perhaps it would behoove progressives in the Church to put pressure on the Pope to go further. However, I don't think a grassroots coalition would be utterly ineffectual.

You can read, great! Please Google "lie" and try to understand how you misused the word in your previous posts. Hint: it has to do with how you confounded it with delusion/deluded, rationalizing, and excuses. Learn and accept the facts about what words mean. Yay, facts!

Alternatively, dear, it would do you a world of good to stop, think, and process information before indulging your little knee-jerk hostile reactions. Go read a book or take a class or something. Until then, please be quiet and stop embarrassing yourself.

I know! I'm excited to see who he condemns/excommunicates next!

I don't think you know what "liar" means.

Um, that's what reform means.

Maybe you are trying to seem critical and intelligent, but you just come across as needlessly hostile and mean. Also, all human beings have many complexities when it comes to their values and identities. Just something to think about.

I one as well! The way I see it is that many/all institutions are fraught, and we all live with various confusing contradictions about many parts of our lives. I wish that we lived in the same place.

Although his rhetoric could certainly have the effect of attracting younger, more progressive people to the church, no? He may not personally/directly change much, although it doesn't seem implausible that he may cause a sort of ripple effect and motivate others to instigate more material reform(s).

Well, people do listen to the Pope. In that sense, his reformist actions matter, however small they may be for now. For example, when he basically said that it was O.K. for a Catholic to be a liberal, that was important. They definitely need to work on their views on gays, but I don't think that the Catholic church

Drugs could be a contributing factor.

I'm a Catholic and I support all of those things. I think that there are plenty of moderates in all/most religions who choose to reject some of the more extreme aspects of their religious doctrine. Just curious why you would want to challenge her when she has proven herself to be fairly progressive as it is?

Please consider contributing some of your wealth to an abortion fund!

Your job sounds awesome. I'm sorry I was so snarky about STEM. I just get tired of the self-satisfied folks who see STEM as a one size fits all solution to the education debt crisis.

Is Ron Paul a racist? That makes me upset. I know that Rand said some heinous things on Rachel Maddow about how businesses should be able to racially discriminate, but what did Ron say/do? Come to think of it, I have some vague memory of Anonymous uncovering his email on a Neo Nazi listserv? Is that it? Anyway, I

Don't forget inmates in their for-profit prisons!

Not their mistresses, either.
