@vegbruiser: MP3Tag has worked well for me. It gives you the ability to edit tags in bulk, and also rename files based on whatever info from the tag you want.

assuming that you keep at least 1 machine turned on, just sharing it among the network seems to do the trick for me. never saw the need for anything else.

Wasn't Google's intention all along to create a cloud OS? I assumed this would be it, and a few versions from now they can advertise it in such a way that the actual OS used would be irrelevant.

I've changed out a lot of laptop HDs, and I've seen that it really depends on size. The larger the laptop, the more accessible the HD. The smaller / thinner ones, you've got to go under the keyboard, turn left at the motherboard, find Jake and tell him Carl sent you, then you can get the HD out.

my concern (other than the EULA) is simple

At the office, I usually close my door to make sure I can't pick up the partial conversations of others talking too loud, (which will always make me listen for the rest). Otherwise, I have some light background music playing, to take up the small part of my brain that is always looking to be distracted.
