One other part I’d add: a weekend (or something similar) WITHOUT the other person. Whether it’s with friends, seeing family, or just going some place that the other one isn’t all that jazzed about, it’s important to maintain a bit of independence. Example: my wife likes to camp, I cannot stand it (this was known when

if it weren't for the athletes, the reporters wouldn't get a week vacation in Phoenix either.

My grandfather and dad both did the same thing. (No military or moving, just had to move shit every few years)

Well, it's like they say. If you aren't paying for it, you're no longer a customer. You're the product being used for sale (usually data or advertising eyeballs) for something else. For things that I enjoy, but don't really "care" about, I'll go for a freebie. But if my workflow or business depends on it, I pay for it

@hanren: I knew it was you! :)

At first, I was going to give the basic Louis C.K. / whiny bastard comment, then I took a step back and thought about it.

I use FxCamera for the retro / fancy stuff. Slimmer, less buggy than the others I've tried.

there is already an app that runs on Adobe AIR that does this. [rstoeber.com]

For what it's worth, Cash is my son. His last name sure as shit isn't Warren (it's Norcross). And he's goddamn awesome. Prefers baseball over shitty cartoons, likes good music (i.e. Jawbreaker, James Brown, and of course Johnny Cash), and loves giving high-fives.

This looks promising. I had been using a greasemonkey script for this, but found that greasemonkey itself was causing issues.

You can clog with just poop. Especially with a lot of these low-flow toilets, there just isn't enough pressure to pull it down. In fact, I did it two days ago. #openmailbagtuesday

I usually say 'no' to any of them (I wish my wife would do the same), but one exception is when people are buying laptops for their kids, esp. going to college. They're gonna get trashed (regardless of make / brand), and having the warranty for at least the first 2 or 3 years of them in school can be helpful,

@Phoshi: I disagree. As one who's used Vista for quite a while, Win7 runs a lot better on my existing hardware and doesn't seem to have nearly as many hang-ups. #windows7

I've been doing this for quite some time with Windows LiveSync (not LiveMesh). It syncs real-time if both machines are on, and will update the dormant computer if it's off at the time. Seamless and doesn't require any extras.

I admit that I much prefer Outlook 2007 over Thunderbird or the Gmail web-app, but I switched over to TB because of the Gmail / IMAP issue (losing connection). Question: You mention that SP2 corrects the IMAP errors in Gmail. I didn't see anything in the linked article that specifically mentioned that. Any ideas?

I did this for years (before I quit drinking), but I've found that you can use basically any flat surface with a 90 degree edge. Put the lip of the cap on the edge, hold at an angle, then pull down while hitting the cap itself. Works fine as long as you have a good edge, but keep in mind this can eat up Formica

I think the increase of coworking spaces can help quite a bit. For many people (myself included), it can be hard to maintain the amount of self-discipline needed. In addition, the coffee shop working just never seemed right, and was always too crowded or noisy.

My brother has been a window tinter for the past 15 years (and I've done this part-time with him) and it would work better under the glass as opposed to over it, as long as it was dark enough.
