If you unlocked the heartbeat sensor by leveling up, then you can equip it. I can confirm that heartbeat sensor is there, and field upgrades are indeed unlimited like tactical and lethal gear, you can equip one at the start of every match irregardless of how you did in the previous match.

Dude, it’s not that bad. You act like they’re making you play their game. They’re not forcing you to play, they don’t try to lure you in with incentives and they’re definitely not asking you to buy something. They just give you some stats in a marketing email that you consented to.
