A safety pin has some advantages over a paper-clip, but it has the disadvantages that 1) for those who work in an office, a paper clip is more likely to be available and 2) a safety pin will not lay flat because the necklace rings will be on the same side of the safety pin as opposed to opposite ends. It’s a trade-off.

Nylons and stockings are not the same thing as tights. Nylons/stockings/panythose are to wear because “bare legs are unladylike”. Tights are to keep your legs warm, and look cute, and hide the fact that you haven’t shaved your legs.

Yeah most of what I ate in Iceland was just fish (delicious, delicious fish).
The Reykjavik area is warmer in the winter than most of the rest of Iceland. It was not much colder in Reykjavik than it was at home (Washington DC). Have you been anyplace else cold?
I did take a day trip to some of the nearby sights. I was mostly referring to the eastern part of the country and the ring road.
Icelandic hot dogs are the same as Danish, but with lamb (because they have mostly sheep there). Served with remoulade and fried onions. A lot of Icelandic food is related to Danish food.
I’m not sure I would be much help because Iceland is pretty much a completely different country in the winter vs. summer. We just went anywhere that was open, because all the touristy restaurants were closed for the season.
