For real. I had an adult coworker tell me that she didn't feel comfortable putting anything "up there"..... but she's had THREE biological kids. She's had plenty of things going in AND out.

My mom gave me a necklace when I got my first period. Right before she gave me a speech about how I was not allowed to use tampons because she never used tampons and thus tampons are bad.

Eugenics is not preventing people from having children, it's preventing people from passing on their genetics. If it was eugenics the process would have to be irreversible, and also they would have to sterilize his already-existing children.

This does not fall under the definition of eugenics, the purpose of which is to prevent a person's supposedly-inferior genes from continuing in subsequent generations. This is the equivalent of removing children from a parent who is endangering them, minus the part where the child then has to grow up in a foster home

Land's End does it as well, but their selection of other brands is seriously lacking.

My younger brother is allergic to sunscreen and there has never been a situation in which he for some reason accidentally put sunscreen on himself just because another kid had some sunscreen with them. I don't understand.

Since they have moved the show to the "classic tv" section of their site, I think this is as good as it's going to get.

You can still watch Best Friends Forever, too!

I came here to say the EXACT same thing. I'll even watch that T.J. Maxx commercial.

This was, as The Hollywood Reporter puts it, "thanks in large part to girls and women."

I watched Jeopardy earlier this week for the first time in a LONG time and thought she was cool but I had no idea she was THIS COOL.

That's genius. If you forget what year it is, you can just check your email address!

I once had a not-too-computer-savvy coworker whose personal email address was [name]2003@aol.com. I worked with him in 2011. I will never understand why he thought it was a good idea to include the current year in his email address when he made it.

LibraryThing is excellent for non-fiction books.

My freshman year roommate communicated with me entirely in loud phone conversations with her mother.

People almost always pronounce my (Dutch-based) last name incorrectly the first time. I politely correct them. All too often (maybe 10% of the time) the person will say "Oh. Well, you should pronounce it the other way because that would be cool!" I might be being too sensitive but I just find that to be such an

I live in an apartment building that is about 25% college students (many of them international) and I get some great stuff that they leave on the table in the hall. Lots of (unopened) food, multiple vacuum cleaners, a barely-used toaster, a food processor, and TONS of beer.

On bulk trash pickup day in the rich part of town we once found a garment bag with a fur coat and stole inside. Sold them for $60 :-)

My shoulders ache just looking at that picture.

They are also now randomly selecting whether people go through the regular line or the "quick screen" line. So you could also pay $0 and have a 50% chance of going through the quick line.
