I really appreciate the ongoing DieselGate updates.

I myself think it’s better for those jobs to go to México and not China. A stronger México reduces illegal immigration, crime, drugs and that can only be good for the US. Also México will more likely buy those same cars theybare making. Win win for both countries.

“Faster” =/= “more fun”. Not always, anyway. There are bench racing geeks who will never drive these who will argue that the dual clutches are “superior”, then there are the luxury lifestyle types who can actually afford them that just don’t care to operate a third pedal. Then there are those of us in between, who

I don’t think anyone would argue against that. The manual is purely a matter of pleasure, not numbers these days. Dual Clutches and even regular automatics are faster and get better mileage now. Most of us aren’t going for lap records, but want to enjoy the process, which sometimes means three pedals.

The reality of the situation is that some people who love manual transmissions find the experience far superior. Thats it. End of story.

Not trying to bash you, but really? I taught 2 ex gf’s. They picked it up in 15 minutes. Find a big empty larking lot. Push clutch in, let out AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE. Literally as slow as you can. Until it starts moving, then slowly give it gas. Most cars will move forward on their own without any throttle. Car companies

Well if you aren’t good at something after doing it twice then it isn’t worth doing.

Have you tried letting the clutch out slower?

Bingo. It’s like saying a Canon DSLR is “better” than a Leica M. It’s simply a difference in performance vs. experience, and I’d pick a Leica M all day over a Canon.

“are relatively simple when compared to an automatic”

Technically, they are far superior to a manual, just as new electric keyboards are “superior” to Steinways. The manual transmision is a barbaric device compared to modern automatic transmissions. But some of us do not care for sophistication in driving and truly adore the experience of shifting our own gears, because

Not very.

This is the F40 shifter, it has reverse set off slightly to the left, if the F40 is wrong I dont want to be right.

Right because there's no way you can get access to things like leather and steel and wood and designers and factories.

Nope... however, I don’t think it makes the cut for the reasons to try to run someone over?

I’ll agree it’s a bit flat at this point. It used to be funny but now it only leaves me feeling deflated. If only people could gauge how others feel about it.

Yeah, must be horrible to have a POTUS that doesnt send you and your buddies to war on a whim, right?

But for serious. Where's Tyler? #freetyler

The “won’t cost a million dollars” is an expression meaning that it will be affordable. Their base price estimate is under $35,000 (I’ll add that in to make it clear that $1 million wasn’t literal).

Also, you’d be surprised how difficult it is to integrate components into cohesive systems. In fact, most carmakers are
