If I had money to bet I’d guess the problem is bigger in independent Baptist circles, because 1. unlike the SBC, there is no hierarchy in the sect, so there are no rules to enforce and no ‘membership’ to throwout and 2. most of those churches are more patriarchal than even the SBC, which one could argue is patriarchal

But the SBC is usually so progressive and forward-thinking. I mean, back in the distant past that was 1982, they took the revolutionary stance of telling their clergy to stop preaching that Jews were Christ-killers.

If anything, while Catholicism’s 1000+ year-old bureaucracy might have initially protected priests, in the long run it’s that penchant for record keeping that helped root it out. Getting abusers out of evangelical churches is going to be a lot harder and face a lot more resistance.

Disrespectful?? Isn’t this somewhat more than that??? If he accessed intimate pictures (or even outright nudes), is this an invasion of her and his privacy??  Could this be considered some kind of revenge porn?

Seriously.  Is there a patriarchal religion where this DOESN’T happen?  I mean, if your faith is based on the premise of women being inherently inferior.....this is going to happen.

That’s a very good, and less revolting point.

Yeah, Occam’s Razor likely applies here. You don’t have to hack a phone if someone on your side has full access to it. Especially if it’s someone whom the owner trusts, like a sibling or their publicist.

It must be the year for life imitating movies. Previously we had Trump getting his “facts” about asylum seekers from Sicario 2.

I am assuming the theory is, as her manager and publicist, he had access to her account.  Or maybe just that he knew her passwords because he was her brother.

In fact it is straight out of “All the President’s Men”:

Showed him the text like

I think the easier Occam’s Razor point is that if he’s her “... manager and publicist” that he simply had access to something, even if she stored it on the cloud (whether she told him about it or not). I find it likely that, as her “best friend,” she may have discussed it with him — but likely didn’t share the picture

When The Daily Beast pointed out that it had never suggested or asked if he had, Stone replied, “You are busted. You are not a journalist. No one believes anything you write.”

Documents reviewed by The Daily Beast show that Michael Sanchez believed the Enquirer pursued its story about Bezos with “President Trump’s knowledge and appreciation”—a chase encouraged, in Sanchez’s estimation, by Republican operatives “who THINK Jeff gets up every morning and has a WaPo meeting to plot its next

Bezos is the richest person on earth and a man to boot. Sanchez’ brother is using her private texts to blackmail her. And her husband ditched her.  Sanchez is getting the short end of the stick in every way.

(looks up “Dirty Sanchez” on Urban Dictionary;doesn’t see his pic,but reads about something equally as disgusting nonetheless)

Everybody has at least one asshole family member. That doesn’t let AMI off the hook for its tactics or its motivation.

Yeah. I don’t hate the overall genie design, but Smith’s face just isn’t blended into it well at all. If Disney can get Josh Brolin’s face to look natural on a giant purple alien, it shouldn’t be this hard to get Will Smith’s face to look natural on a giant blue genie.

Addendum: Coming from the same producer that made Thanos, this is practically a crime.

It looks like they animated a genie and then slapped Will Smith’s face on at the last minute. I’d say I can’t believe how bad this looks, but the troubled production all but guaranteed it.
