Kendall literally hasn’t seen them outside a zoom screen all season, why would you think he’d have a party with them.
But as much sense as it makes, it does feel less interesting than the alternative — regression instead of progression, nuance and complexity kind of being shaved away in favor of a more easily loathsome character.
Pulling a Newsroom and going “real life with 18 months hindsight” was just a bad idea.
It’s always interesting to me when adaptions of magazine articles choose to include the actual making of that article as part of the movie. Delvey got arrested, the existence of the article isn’t necessary to her arc. Hustlers did it too and it wasn’t a necessary framing device at all.
The scene last week where Roman watched his father humiliate Shiv and then run to his side to call her a bitch seemed to be a particularly revealing point in his character. Where in the past, Roman was always a fuckup who wasn’t taken seriously, we’re seeing now what it does to his personality when he’s able to get a…
Oh cool, I thought of them as influences because this review cited them as influences.
Are they? Encanto has a whole ass extended family.

Every show with women is Girls and bad, to me.
You shouldn’t view these things as inherently healthy, and they aren’t really marketed like that.
It isn’t stereotypical to recognize the origin of Iron Fist is Orientalism and try to rectify that. You’re really missing the plot here if you think that “representation” means making a Latino character instead of a white character rob from Asian cultures is the answer.
It’s basically invoking the stereotype that all Asians are good at martial arts.
Going forward, I really think that Roman is the best choice as a CEO. Why ? He might come across as a jerk, a sexists, but he does not have such venom / poison in himself like Kendall or Shiv.
I think there are material reasons, as other commenters have said, like the fact that the shareholder meeting is now over so they don’t need to have a semblance of an alliance to save face.
That would be really boring in this context though, since it’s a formula. There’s zero challenge if you have access to a catalog of furniture. It’s not like the base game where collecting is part of the difficulty.
