Where in Europe does anyone do that ? We in the UK use a decimal point / full-stop / 'period' after the 'whole' digits, and a comma to define to whole digit numbers, a la :-

I agree that nothing can ever pop out, as in beyond the extremities of the screen, but I have seen a few adverts in the cinema that have bits ( words mostly ) that appear to be nearer to the viewer than the actual screen, within the boundaries of the edges.
