Part of Mike’s beat is mobile gaming. Why wouldn’t he cover such a popular platform that keeps getting games from well known companies? Why shouldn’t they cover this particular game? I clicked into this from elsewhere once I saw Hot Shots mentioned. A long running franchise that is beloved by a specific group getting

“with no public lobbies, chat channels or modes of socializing unless you play with your friends”

Did the team that developed this look like the guys presenting it?

UX sucks for a lot of Japanese games unfortunately. A lot of old interfaces, lack of customization, overloading you with info, slow animations, stuff buried too deep into menus, that sort of thing.

Isn’t that a feature? I thought the hardcore sim thing was what this series was all about

Shitty clickbait games existing doesn’t make other real games bad. This is a terrible take.

You’re really underestimating how many people have an iOS/tvOS device. This is an RPG, not an action game, so this also won’t exclude people who won’t attach a controller to their iOS/tvOS device.

Apple Arcade is a great service so if you  have iOS there’s no excuse to not get it. That being said Apple doesn’t seem that strict about exclusives as long as it’s not on Android. I’m betting Apple fronted them some money, so mobile version comes first, but this will get a broader release within a year.

“Wars happen”

It’s a way to more effectively wage unjust wars which results in people dying, period. Troops are deployed in a lot more places than just the Middle East, although it continues to be a shitshow there, and was all under false pretense to begin with. Supporting the US military in any way isn’t ethical. We squandered

It’s a lot safer to not send troops overseas to shoot brown people and create conflict in the first place.

Damn, I have a friend who worked on this project, and he’ll definitely be bummed out to know this is one of the end results.

Gaming-worthy iOS VMs are not a thing AFAIK but as the other person pointed out these aren’t necessarily exclusive to Apple Arcade. There’s been a few simultaneous launches, too, so I think Apple only cares about iOS exclusivity and not exclusivity as a whole. The Pathless is one recent example and I know there’s

I wasn’t aware Apple TVs are mobile. Hell, I think the M1 Macs can even play some of this stuff. You can use a PS4 or Xbox controller with these platforms. Your being on Android is likely why you have this attitude of “mobile garbage” because you’ve missed iOS having a ton of real games that aren’t a bunch of spammy

It was niche then and it isn’t any less niche now. “Cult classic” or whatever the video game equivalent term would be. I’d be interested in a remaster but I totally understand why they wouldn’t consider it.

Not sure what you mean by “sloppy graffiti” or how that in any way relates to cuphead but this style is certainly intentionally looser than Guacamelee’s

I think it’s because everything is so zoomed out. Some of the larger monsters you get glimpses of look good.

It’s Xbox all the way down

It’s only been a year but I was successfully able to get back into The Outer Worlds for the DLC. It was real rough for the first hour or two, a lot of looking stuff up, trying to remember how things work. I still haven’t bothered with skill point assignment after going back but this is a near-end save so I’m not too

I wasn’t feeling the setting until the demo. Now, it’s more so I don’t mind it, and the story isn’t jabbed in your face all that hard outside of the intro. I don’t think I even thought much of the game at all until the demo was announced and that hands on experience really made me a lot more interested in it.
