I’m wondering if a lot of them can’t pass background checks and that’s why they’re so freaked out by common sense gun laws. We have background checks at gun shows here in NY, it’s fine. It takes less than ten minutes. Though, so far as over-reaching nonsense goes, I am pretty annoyed I can’t order ammo online

Yes, it can be infuriating. Around here, employees can do no wrong and contractors can get raked over the coals for absolutely anything. It drives me nuts as someone who has to enforce the rules. I’m so sick of being told one group of people is to be held to a different standard just because no one has the balls to go

My personal experience is that when the no call list fails, reporting the spam calls tends to make them dry up after a while.

Yea, just wondering why jesus is so interested in spamming the receptionist at a chemical plant. Also, I didn’t really listen, but for some reason I’m assuming it was old testament....

Huh, where I am the contractors all generally make a good deal less money than the full time employees (except consultants).... It’s why the company chooses to contract these roles out. Though, it’s not temporary work, it’s site security, and the shipping department, and warehouse workers, etc...

I’ve been a contractor and work at a company that deals with a lot of contractors. When you farm everything out to the lowest bidder, you end up with a lot of buffoons. You may be an exception, but try not to be offended when someone points out the general reality of the situation.

A lot of that is the issue of contracting out in general, not necessarily Tesla.

Yea, but you have to be on the no call list to be eligible to report scam calls. I think reporting really does make a difference. I get a lot less calls than people who just screen them or keep blocking the new numbers. Scammers give up on my after I report 3-5 of their phone numbers.

Weird. I almost never get them. Every once in a while I go through a one month period where it’s like that, a call day, but I just keep reporting it to the FCC online until it stops (they’ll go through like 5 burner numbers before they give up on my line). Probably one or two months a year, and the rest of the year I

Yea, when your options are “buy this or die” people can charge whatever they want. Could you imagine if our tap water was privatized and for profit?

Yea, who are the people who are still falling for this nonsense?

2-3 a day is a lot. Are you on the no call list?

I report them every time (and am on the do not call list). Reporting seems to help. I go through waves where I’m getting the calls a lot, but then it dies down until someone else gets my number and sells it (Ie, last time I went on vacation I had a month or two of inundation b/c of all the hotels and restaurants I had

At least McDonalds does what they do better than I can do at home. I cannot capture that greasyness in my own kitchen. I could have a tomato fart on some noodles at home and it would be better than olive garden.

Do you have a permanent scar from the face palm that caused?

I honestly just assume everyone is a self centered moron who can’t see past the edge of their own nose. 7 years as a receptionist will do that to you though. I spent the first half hour of my day this morning dealing with someone who didn’t even know the name of the company that had hired him (today was supposed to be

Shit you’re right. I should have thought that one through. It takes a shit ton of effort to turn those ugly little gremlins into people (that’s why I don’t have kids).

Eh, you’d think they’d be able to use their judgement and when they come up and see two men calmly sitting there, maybe start from a place of calmness and evaluate the situation.

I buy starbucks dark italian roast and grind and brew them at home. It’s delicious. I don’t think the beans themselves are the problem...

It’s f*cking insane that the server couldn’t just go over to them and politely say “I’m sorry, but if you’re not going to buy anything I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” When that didn’t happen, when the cops showed up that could have been a casual conversation as well “Hey guys, I know this is excessive, but
